Philippe Goujon

Philippe Goujon is Doctor of Philosophy. He authored several articles on artificial life, self-organization, thermodynamics, the complexity, biotechnology, genomics and also the connection between science, techniques, education and culture. He authored books about the autoorganisation concept and about the ethics of technology. After his first appointment as qualified researcher at the University of Burgundy, then at the Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maitres (IUFM) in Bourg-en-Bresse, he spent three years in post-doctorate studies at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). He has been teaching epistemology and philosophy at University of Lille from 1995 to 2003. In 2004 he is appointed has Professor at the Faculté Notre Dame de la paix (Namur Belgique). He has taken part in a European biotechnology research program entitled "The Industrial Use of Genome Resources in Europe”. He was partner in divers international research projects (in particular the MIAUCE project: http://www.miauce.org/). He has addressed the epistemological and ethical problems of this new scientific field which is named genomic and of GMO.. He has organised various international seminars and symposia on ethics and the relation between ethnics society and governance concept. His research now concerns the epistemology of complexity as well as the The Information Society : Innovation, Legitimacy, Ethics governance and Democracy interaction between science, technology and culture, the cultural impact of informatics, the philosophy of informatics and the epistemology of computing.
He co-direct the IG3T project (Internet governance: transparency, Trust and tools (2008-2009) and will be partner of the European project ETICA (Ethical Issues of Emerging ICT Applications) (avril 2009- 2011)
