Richard Delmas is Principal Administrator at the European Commission,
Directorate General Information Society and Media.
He started his career at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and joined
the European Commission in Luxemburg in the mid eighties where he was
Head of project for computer linguistics and translation.
He then moved to Brussels as assistant of a Deputy Director General and
was in charge of developing policies for Internet and Adviser to the Governmental
Advisory Committe of ICANN (GAC) since 1999. He headed the Secretariat
of the GAC on behalf of the European Commission, before it was transferred
to the Government of India in 2006. He is now in charge of the international
relations for the Neighbourhood Countries and the Mediterranean area at
the European Commission, DG INFSO.
