Starting a PhD at FUNDP

1. Select general themes that you think can motivate you enough to go through all the discouragements that you will encounter in your way to the PhD degree
2. Select a thesis advisor (promoteur in Belgian) that is knowledgeable in a subdomain. Some advisors publish themes on their Websites. If not, you can get a good idea by looking at their publications. Contact him and start to refine your thesis topic. This should give a short document (e.g. 2 pages) containing the research questions and a planning. a PhD thesis at FUNDP takes 3-6 years.
3. Find a funding source.
4. Then you can start the formal registration procedure with the help of your advisor.
